Grit Farm has been working with schools in the Lower Mainland through their physical literacy initiative since 2017.
The ongoing partnerships with various local schools has evolved into the “Grit Project” Trials and Games. A project that aims to help youth recognize the pivotal importance of health and fitness; self-awareness, function, self-confidence, wellness and “grit.”
The Grit Trials begin with extraordinary stories of local heroes, and ordinary people, who have defied expectations to do what others might call impossible. The “trials” themselves are a collection of fun physical challenges – designed to help kids identify their strengths and limitations… and engage in their own pursuit of grit and resilience in a safe and supportive atmosphere.
The Grit Games are set on a functional fitness course as adapted from the training of First Responders. The Games are a unique way to encourage kids to consider the functional application of fitness and to re-connect with the pure joy of active play.
